Malitzins choices category

Townsend book Malitzin’s choices, in my opinion is considered a non-fiction. This book is a book about the history of Mesoamerica and it’s about the history of Dona Malinche and how she shaped the conquest.  Townsends book is about Malinches influence and the clarification of many myths that surround her. Throughout the book Townsend constantly says she is not sure of this because there is not enough evidence but they can infer because of some records that do remain.

I would consider this as the history of Mesoamerica how malitzin influenced it. Townsend shares how she was significant in the history of Mesoamerica. She shows how malinche was not only a translator and then forgotten. She shared her story and explains how valuable she was in the conquest. Also, she not only shares about malinche but also about her children. Townsend walks us through the life of malinche and the conquest of Mexico and we are able to get much more information. She has not dedicated the book specifically to just malinche as the book would make you think. There is a lot on the history of Mesoamerica so I wouldn’t consider it a biography of her because there is more than just her story.

Malitzins choices book is considered a non-fiction because townsend uses some facts and nothing is made up. For example there are instances where she explains how there is no evidence to prove a point. She is honest and focuses on what there is evidence for and does educated guesses but does clarify it.
