Historians often compare and contrast on different
things. They do this to be able to understand a deeper meaning and to get more
aspects off it. By comparing two different empires they can see how similar
they are and how different both civilization where. By Conrad and Demarest
comparing the empires they are analyzing their characteristics and ways of
life. However, the comparison could and should only be done to certain extend
because if not it would lead to incorrect comparison. Which is often seen as
generalization. When we generalize something not all of the facts would be
applied to both civilizations. That’s why it is important to maintain a line
between both civilizations.
When comparing two different civilizations it is
important to be able to represents both sides clearly and separately before
there is any comparison going on. This is to be able to clearly represent what the
civilization was made of. The Inca and Aztec empires both shared religious
ideology as Conrad and Demarest estates. However, It’s important to remember
that they can be compared but there are also some differences as well on their
ideologies. Conrad and Demarest are doing comparative history. By them doing
comparative history they are able to analyze more and depict different aspects
of their ideologies. Conrad and Demarest firsts shows how both empires
functioned and what their civilization was composed off, and then they go to
comparing how both of them where similar in their religious ideology and how
that was a cause of their rapid rise and fall.
